NSFW Website Checker

Check whether a domain is flagged by Cloudflare's adult-content or security filters before opening it.

Only the hostname is checked. A page path, query string, or fragment is ignored. Do not enter private links or login details.

Domain-level filtering is not a safety guarantee. Individual pages may differ.

How the NSFW website checker works

The checker compares ordinary DNS responses with Cloudflare's malware filter and its combined adult-content and malware filter. It checks both IPv4 and IPv6 records for the exact hostname you enter, including any subdomain. It does not scan the content of a specific URL.

What do the results mean?

  • Possible adult content: the domain resolves normally through the standard and security resolvers, but the combined adult-content filter blocks it. This suggests an adult-content classification.
  • Security filter warning: both filtering resolvers block the domain while standard DNS resolves it. This indicates a security filter block, but does not establish whether adult content is present.
  • Not flagged by these filters: all three resolvers return usable addresses. This is not a guarantee that the content is suitable for work or that the site is trustworthy.
  • Unable to determine: DNS fails, a service times out, records are missing, or the responses conflict. An inconclusive check does not indicate that a site is safe.

Can it check an individual post or a shortened link?

No. A forum, social network, or hosting service can contain both ordinary and explicit content on the same hostname. A shortened link checks the shortener's hostname, not its destination. The checker does not assess profanity, graphic violence, downloads, or content behind a login.

Privacy and freshness

The hostname is sent to DevPicker and, for a fresh lookup, Cloudflare's DNS services. Paths, query strings, and fragments are removed in your browser before the request. Completed results may be reused for up to 24 hours; the result shows when the DNS check was made. There is no public lookup history. Filters and websites can change, and incorrect classifications are possible.
